Jesus things move on fast. BBY company management site has already named interim CFO and taken his page down. His linkedin is gone too. If you ever wonder your work really needs you...they don't.

Business continuity planning is pretty standard fare, and a requirement in public companies. A company that needs irreplaceable employees is a poorly run company.

Really, it's not hard to throw anyone in any role for the interim. Especially these top positions where there are at least 3-4 people fighting to get in there at any given time. Their effectiveness is too be seen.

And yes, anyone can be replaced.

Realistically if you die tomorrow and the company is fucked because of it you likely sucked at your job.

More surprised at how quickly any mention of the guy gets erased like he never existed. Was curious to read his bio/background.

That shouldn't be surprising at all. He was at the center of a lawsuit for a pump and dump. Why wouldn't they want to remove any trace of connection with a guy involved in nefarious activities?

But question is, can employer ask Social Media companies to delete employee's account on their platforms?

In this case LinkedIn? Or did Gustavo's family did it?

You're expecting companies to keep dead people's profiles up?

Jesus.

Jesus.

Did you notice a sign out front saying, "Dead people's profile storage"?

I’ve reported two dead people that I personally knew to LinkedIn and they removed their profiles within 2 hours. I provided links to their obituaries which made it very easy for them to verify. fwiw, I reported them both because I saw people congratulating them on their work anniversaries and thought it was a bit fucked up.

Not surprising that a high profile death like this was removed quickly too.

So it's just standard policy of Linkedin. Not some conspiracy theory Manhattan is suggesting.
