View Full Version : Mar needs a 2 door manual

Mar

Any chance of saving the injectors by doing a full clean and service on them?

I'm also confused as to why you would be buying another one. I'd get something else.

:werd:

It wouldn't specifically be another Hyundai, I was curious how the quality would differ from my previous Civic and it looks like I made it to 200,000 kilometres on the Civic with only replacing the clutch but I didn't make it to 170,000 on the Veloster without having to rebuild the engine.

I don't buy 4 door cars and I would look at something electric so literally my only sporty option is the Mini Cooper and they got the absolute worst quality ranking from JD Power.

So I have no idea what I would choose, I test drove a manual (has to be manual) Bronco last week but that thing is way too big. And like I said, I might go electric.

Surely there are other options for manual 2 doors

Electric?
- Nissan Leaf (no)
- Mini Cooper (is the quality that terrible?)
- Hyundai RM20 (although amazing, only available in Europe)
- Volkswagen Buzz (not out yet but really cool)

Petrol
- Tesla Roadster (can't afford it)
- Lamborghini / Ferrari / Aston Martin (can't afford it)
- Ford Bronco (too big)
- Jeep Wrangler (no thanks)
- Cupra (not available for import)
- Porsche 718 / 911 (maybe but I'm looking for a winter car)
- Volkswagen Golf
- BMW Supra (not a real Supra)
- Nissan Z (maybe this one)
- Nissan Skyline R34 GTR (I'd actually buy one, know anyone selling?)

I'd really prefer electric, I hate getting gas.

"Need winter car. Leaning toward R34 or Z."

All that's left to do is consult with NZwasp & his ma-in-law and we can close this Mar thread.

Compared to a used Land Rover product? Yes

Get the Golf and save up for a PHEV.

BTW Carrera 4's are excellent in winter.

The (not a real) Supra is supposed to actually be a pretty good car. The parts having a different automakers name stamped on them is a pretty trivial reason not to buy a good car.

A 2020 "Toyota" Supra would be dog shit compared to the BMW Supra

DonJuan

I'm getting off topic here, but they could have just made a faster lighter RC-F and called it the Supra.

The best Supra you can buy is the Z4. That includes the older models. Change my mind.

Like a couple others, I'm confused.

Do they even make a manual electric car, at least one that isn't some garage build from a YT channel? Also, the Tesla Roadster isn't a "petrol" vehicle.

From your list, Golf GTI/R seems to be the most likely candidate, since you aren't going to find a manual trans EV IMO. Also, BRZ, WRX, 86/FRS, etc aren't bad options either. My fiance has been driving a 2022 BRZ for most of this year and loves it as a road car. The new WRX isn't a bad car either, we drove one and I tried to nix the BRZ and get it instead, but no go on that one. Also, the Civic SI is getting good reviews, it's not super expensive, decent warranty/etc, and is available with a manual. Of all the options available, Civic SI, WRX, or Golf GTI/R would be my pick since you want a car for winter as well.

2022 was the first year they stopped making coupes so he'd have to get a used one, not sure if that's a deal breaker.

Aren't they called the GR86 or something like that now? It could have been an option but I feel like the Z is a better car from the reviews I've seen.

What about a 3 door? I hear Velosters are all the rage.
Production has ended, they will not be returning for 2023.

I require a manual but I'd be willing to give that up to go electric. If I'm sticking with gas I will not buy an automatic.

Do you really want to pay the 20% luxury tax and drive it in the snow? I guess a used one could be a good buy but I park my winter car on the street and I'd feel badly leaving a 911 out in the snow all winter.

I would love a Del Sol or even better, a CRX. I love the look of them and I feel like they're going to start shooting up in value.

The Z is not a better car than the GR86. Not even close. It's largely a mediocre refresh of the largely mediocre 370Z. It's faster in a straight line but that's where its superiority ends. GR86 is a better all around car by a longshot.

To not waste time on a new thread. I am thinking about buying a car to keep for the next 30 years. Can age along with me I suppose. Looking around $80. Current choices are a camaro zl1 and a m340i.. pretty open I guess. Hoping for something timeless to carry me through Sunday drives in a future of vehicle appliances.

Literally everything aside from raw hp/tq figures. There’s a lot more to a car.

Unless all you care about is accelerating, then you need an EV as nothing else competes.

I was parked behind one 2 weeks ago and was just drooling over it, I was waiting for the owner to come out so I could ask them about it, it was beautiful. Some mom was taking pictures of her kid standing next to my car and I was just looking at the Audi.

You don't want used? Those american v8's are pretty reliable, chevy / ford anyways. Older 6th gen 5.0L mustangs are at a pretty attractive price point.

I'm not kidding, I was looking at the TT and I heard, "You want me to take a picture of you with the car?" I looked back and the kid was standing, smiling. So I let him sit in it and put the top up / down while his mom recorded a video, I was being nice. Unfortunately I got distracted and the girl in the TT drove away but I saw it again the next day in another part of the city. If anyone knows a girl that drives a blue TTRS with a silver graphic along the front / rear lips, tell her I was drooling over her car.
