Hello folks

Well~ My dad is lookin for a brand new SUV or AWD Minivan as
you see on the title. He's got limited brand name due to that he
lives out of town and he wants to buy it at local dealershop.
Also he has limited budget around $45000.

Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep

2004 Chrysler Pacifica - 250hp AWD MRSP $43000
2004 Dodge Durango - 4.7L Magnum V8 MRSP $44000
2004 Jeep Cherokee - 4.0L I-6 MRSP $42000

GMC
2004 GMC Envoy XUV SLE - 4.2 I-6 275hp MRSP $42000

What would you guys pick?
Don't tell me to get a honda Pilot or Toyota Highlander ~

The Pacifica AWD is really heavy and thus slow. I have rented it a couple times on business trips and never really liked it.

IMO GMC Envoy! Great Power out of a I6, comfy ride, looks good. They also have the V8 option with the XUV.

The XUV just because of the useless opening roof that you'll never use :D (i'd go for a TrailBlazer i prefer the look over the gmc)

My dad has an Envoy I6 and it has more than enough power and it is still good on gas of course. Looks better than the other 2 as well.

I would take the envoy... (tblazer is nicer though.... yes i am bias).. the 4,2 makes amazing tq and is quite quick. and if you want the jet chip for it is actually worth it (do not install for first 6000k though)... makes it much more fun. I also find the suspension to be much nicer and holds up very well to front end damage (of the 3 i have worked on from rear ending somebody) only one had frame damage, and it was a easy pull

I think that might be a little small.

My dad has an Envoy SLT and he loves it. It weighs 4600lbs, but it doesn't feel that hefty. Its got plenty of power, and the self adjusting rear air suspension is pretty cool.

i would say go for the new durango....hemi power baby! :burnout:

i like the look of them, because it is different....
envoy/trailblazer is almost like a civic, way too many of them on the road imo...

with the hemi it would push his dads limit of 45 G's.

I'd go Envoy!

or 2nd chose would be the chev, they might not make good fast vehicles but in quality chev rocks

Has anyone here ever sit in the back seat of a durango?

and they are fugly.

Go with the gmc...
or the pacifica...

DonJuan

Durango is fugly, sitting behind the wheel, it feels like a minivan. IMO it's a hemi powered minivan with 4x4
Pacifica is alright, too heavy for the V6 to be of any use other than driving around nicely. But it does drive nice.
Envoy is the best bet. The I6 has good power and torque albeit a bit high in the rpm range, as long as your not towing anything it's all good. The 5.3 V8 is the better option.

Another avenue you may want to check is the Trailblazer, V8 Explorers, 4Runner, 4.0 Pathfinder or QX4 (3.5),
