The longer the USA denies the further that China gets ahead, because China is *that* much better at reverse engineering technology (human or alien). Denial may no longer be in the best interest of the greater USA.
Trying to keep a secret upon secret all in seperate departments, means you never have a chance to put all the puzzle pieces together to effectively reverse engineer. It actually causes technological regression, like NASA did to space exploration.
Thats my take.
