My LG TV doesn't appear to have any type of audio output other than digital optical output. It does have the red/white/yellow RCA inputs but they don't output (I tried but it doesn't work and the digital menu on the television on gives the option for the digital output.

My antiquated ceiling speaker system can only accept an RCA red/white cable input.

Has anyone had any success using the digital output to rca input cables sold on Amazon? I'm not looking for audiophile quality here and just want to be able to use the ceiling speakers when playing mario kart or watching Captain Stabbin' videos.

They work perfectly fine. I just threw out 3 of them in my Xmas cleanup.

mgiht be worth getting a soundbar or something that has optical in analog out, many do.

You need a digital to analog converter (DAC) for this to work properly, a simple cable won't suffice.

There are millions out there so you'll find something within your budget to make this work as intended.

Presumably a sound system that old won't make much of a difference quality wise so I'd just get this for $18

thanks everyone. I'll try one of those DAC's from Amazon. I'm not too worried about sound quality.

I do have a sound bar so I'll check if that has any audio out on it as it might be an option as well, but a bit more of a hassle to get it all turned on but worth looking into

Its too bad the Z906s aren't $250 anymore. Two optical inputs no less. 1000 watts enough to explode your head.
