As the title suggests, although I did not find anything meaningful and probably more of a marketing exercise on the detergents etc. No mentioning of ethanol so probably still E10.


Shell do have some pretty aggressive promos running throughout this year, and no cost of entry:
7 cents off for BMO card users
10 cents off on Blue Jays home day
monthly air miles promo that can provide cash value for fuel purchase

According to their MSDS database. There is a update submission on Apr 2024 for a V-Power product without ethanol. But the Nitro+ branding entry still has 10%.

The Shell V-Power® racing fuel used in Scuderia Ferrari F1 cars contains 99% of the same types of compounds as Shell V-Power® NiTRO+ road gasoline available in Canada, so our customers can fuel up like the pros!
Funny marketing bit in the PR, it’s because f1 rules dictate the use of e10 pump fuel, so f1 has to use fuels that uses the same additives as what we use in our cars.

I’ve been forced back to Shell ever since coop changed their fuel suppliers and my car loses power on hot days on whatever coop gets now. At least I can use those safeway fuel discounts now since crowfoot Safeway gas changed to a shell.

While the announcement focuses on the enhanced detergents in the fuel, there is no mention of ethanol content, implying it remains E10. Shell is also running several promotions, including discounts for BMO card users, special offers on Blue Jays home games, and monthly Air Miles promotions. I had the chance to be on the press trip to Maranello, Italy for the new V-power launch. Sort of strange for a photographer as I wasn't really allowed to take many photos there but I'm not complaining. We had a chance to get behind the scenes at a lot of cool spots including the Ferrari Museum, the factory, the Scuderia Headquarters. A highlight for sure was getting to spend a day with the Ferrari race team hitting the track. Think I was able to log about 25 laps, along with an hour or so on the skid pad. Few quick shots the Ferrari team snapped of us out on the Fiorano Circuit, such a cool experience!

Shell beside my house is shutdown, looks like major renovations and they're replacing all the tanks in the ground or something. Seems weird because the pumps themselves were relatively new.

So many pinch me moments along the way over there, but it was cool to meet with the engineers and team leads on both the Shell and Ferrari side to hear about their long standing collaboration. Apparently Fernando Alonso did a test in 2009 using pump gas vs race gas in his F1 car around Fiorano and the pump gas was only nine-tenths of a second slower, pretty wild.
