I have a buddy who just rebuilt his 7M-GTE on an 89'? Toyota Supra Turbo. He was saying he had it bored .020 over and threw in a lot of aftermarket parts [pistons, rings, valves etc.] He figured it was about a 3.2L putting out just under 300 hp. Just wondering what sort of output those engines have stock and if they're decent engines or not. Never really heard much about them before and figured I should know my Toyota engines better.

Hmm, sounds like a 2nd gen JDM 3S-GTE is just about the same. I wonder if the Supra weighs more than my Celica will. I'll have to google that sometime.

3sgte swap would make 5th gen a rocket. Same power as an all-trac but a lot lighter.

Im doing a second 3sgte swap in an early 90s celica for a buddy right now. Should be a fun car when it's done

Just looked at your sig it's the same style celica as yours, sorry Im an mr2 guy don't know the generations. The cost of the entire swap is going to be around $2200cnd for the jdm front clip off of a gt4 + $150 to have the clip shipped to his house + $100 - 200 in little things like gaskets, belts etc just to freshen things up. He lucked out though and got a great deal on the clip because they shop who has it is getting out of the business. They have one more left with 104K kms on it, I bet if you offered him $2000 cash youd have yourself a jdm clip
