Scratches in headlight

I've got some small scratches in my headlights, most likely from rocks over the winter... they are just small etches in the housing... I'm wondering if there is some compound or something I can buff with that will reduce the scratches somewhat? Or does anyone have any other ideas?

get some jewelers rouge and use a dremel and buff it out
