I've been trying to hook up my stereo in my car, It's hooked up right, And the stereo lights up and everything, But there is no sound, And i tried it in someone eles car, and it worked perfect. It isn't the speakers because the previous stereo that was in here worked. Anyone have any idea's of what is possilby wrong? The stereo is a Pioneer Deh-235 and I have a 89' Cavalier Z-24. I also bought a wiring harness for it, And it is the correct one, And also worked in the other car i tested the stereo with.

Somewhere one of the speaker wires could be touching the body of the car, check also if the speakers are blown (only said that because i don't know the history of your car)

to check if teh speaker works connect the + and - parts of the speaker cable to a 9volt battery if you hear static then the speaker is good.

Try running new speaker cable anyways that factory stuff is crap.

If there is an amp in the car then you need to supply the amp with power and also you need to connect the remote wire to the amp.
