6th Ave was completely blocked off with like 6 cop cars and two fire trucks.

I was there right at 11 PM .. saw tons of smoke ... ( damn, I uaually hv my camera with me, but was charging battery at home! )

Around 10 police cars were there around 11, and I tried to drive closer, but Police blocked me, then I parked my car, and tried to walk closer ...and looked, there was a Nice new black 2003 BMW 745 LI, with the Personal Plate, that Black 745Li was crashed, (and crashed to a police car ?)and just keep smoking.

Even after 2 hours, the whole section was blocked ! ( 1 st and 6/7 ave sw area )

I am sure it was a big smash, since BMW 7 series is one of the "strongest" car in the world, but the whole front end of that Black BMW is bended (and smoke), and the police car was even worse ... :(

Even around 1 am ..still lots of police cars .. I guess .. probaby 15 or more police cars and fire trucks over there ..

I check on newspaper and internet today, and there is nothing !! :dunno: :dunno:

what the hell is going on ? it must be something serious, but not on the news ?? :banghead:

At approximately 10:36 p.m. on April 10th the Calgary Police
Service attempted to stop a stolen truck near 40 Ave and
Edmonton Tr NE. This vehicle failed to stop for officers and
was pursued to 26 Ave and 4th Street NW where the pursuit was
terminated. HAWC 1 had been initially notified at the time
of the pursuit but was out of position to offer any immediate
assistance to these officers.

Upon HAWC 1’s arrival in the area where the stolen truck was
last seen it observed this same truck proceeding towards the
downtown core while being operated in a dangerous fashion
with little to no regard to posted speed limits and traffic
control devices. HAWC 1 continued to maintain observation of
this vehicle from a covert altitude ensuring all marked
Police units stayed cleared of the suspect vehicle as it
travel through downtown. At approximately 10:48 p.m. this
same stolen truck failed to stop for a red light at 1St and
6th Ave SW colliding with two other vehicles at this
intersection.

The driver of this stolen truck was taken into custody at the
scene and later transported by EMS to Foothills Hospital
suffering from minor injuries. A female driver from one of
the other vehicles was also transported to Foothills Hospital
by EMS for precautionary reasons and later released.

20-year-old Ryan Michael of Calgary is charged with:

· Possession of Stolen Property Over $5,000
· Failure to Stop for a Police Officer
· Dangerous Operation of a motor vehicle
· Possession of Break & Enter tools

I was just at Honda ( Glenmore Automall ) to get my car in for some body work. I guess Calgary BMW gets there cars done at the Honda Body Shop. Anyways the guy I was doing my appraisal told me that they got that 745il in there shop right now. They've estimated the work to be at around 24k ...

R.I.P the people that died on Peigan
It's always soooo sad to hear when a young child dies, 8 year old dead and a 12 year old in very bad condition. Hope she makes it

As for the guy who didnt stop and crashed into the BMW, well... he needs to be punched twice in the head by every single Calgarian.
