View Full Version : Seriously considering buying a 1990 acura legend anything I should know

Well its tiem for a new daily driver and I hae been lookign at an acura legend its a 1990, black with black leather...anything I should know about these cars..what to look for..any sort of problems they have

They are great cars, especially for winter cars. About the only issues that I have with them is the lifters making a phuckin racket. Its the way the head was designed that they wear out the lifters and they are very noisy. Its no big deal but the sound can get annoying. Clutches are a big pricy too if its a 5spd. I say buy it. :thumbsup: I've had 2 legends and both were great cars. I'll buy another coupe when I find a nice one!

They all seem to get pretty damn rusty, all the eaRlier generations seem to rust like mo-phuggers..

Those cars are Pimp thats all you have to know!:bigpimp: I want to get a '95 Legend in a couple years when i can afford one, 6 speed Standard!:D That shoule be a pretty nice Daily Driver!:thumbsup:

heh.. get in line! I've been trying to find a good one for a good price for about a year and a half now. Neat cars!

i heard somewhere that they were built on a nsx platform ....is this true or just a load of BS ?

nope, some people think that the engine is the same but the legend is sohc and the nsx is vtec dohc. totally different becides the fact that there both the same displacement. the G2 type II legend does have variable intake runners simmilar to what a gsr has.

They have good engines, not to bad of a car..and all Honda lifter's
make a racket...Just ad 300ml of transmission fluid to your engine oil, it stops it right away, cleans and lubricates the lifters...

cool guys thanks for the info..the engine bay is a little crazy looking ..so many hoses and wires..hows the factory sound system in those?...what about gas mileage
