A friend of mine just bought a 1992 Lexus SC 400 w/ 130,000kms for $12,000 CAD. The car is mint (emerald green with stock gold BBS rims, tan leather interior etc, etc.)

Did he get a good deal? I realize the car is almost 13 years old but it looks timeless and the 4.0L V8 is a beast :D

you get what you pay for. Thats a little steep but if is mint then you must pay the premium $ to get one.

stark comparison to a 93 Supra TT for 40k

That seems like a good price considering the crap that 12K will buy you these days. If he maintaints it properly her should see 400 000kms+ out of that engine

Beautiful car, timeless design that is going to look good ten and twenty years from now. Not many around. Great motor. luxury. $12K too steep? Not really. Fair market value.

Very Fair Market Value Considering Demand and Original Price.Damn Those Cars Were Expensive New.

I Here You Can Put A Supra TT Engine In With Very Little Trouble.

That's true for the SC300...SC400 is a lot more complicated.

24 hours in an sc 400 would be fun.

24 hours strait is a long time to drive. i think 36 travel time would be a better estimate, and even thats pushing it.

12 us is a bit more. its still a reasonable price though. I would be sooo worried spending that kind of green on a car over ebay. Sooo many horror stories. Well best of luck in not being one of them.

12,000 CAD not USD.

He knows a guy in AZ that went and checked it out, no worries.
