Spotted - Strange spinners

Ok so me and my dad were cruising up a street and here in NZ its pretty rare to see spinners (ive only seen them twice)
but these spinners were hella strange right.. they were on a mitsi galant (97?).

Description:
They stuck about 5" from the wheel and there was these strange ball lookin things (size of tennis balls). they were spinning backwards.. the car was moving when i saw them around 25kmph.. so yeah.. is there any of those in the usa or has anyone else ever seen them? i was like :drool: :drool: when i saw them!

unfortuanatly i couldnt get a pic because
1. had no camera
2. my dad was going oppisite directions

they looked around 18 inch and fully chrome!
could be but they didnt really look hub cap to me! :dunno:

ive heard of motorized spinners that spin the opposite derection... but tennis ball sized balls on them?... i cant picture these rims at all...

ok well they wernt like thie things you see in the movies at all.. and car, they would be pretty hard to draw.. thy werent sharp at all and had about 5 of those balls.. i wish i couldve got a longer view of them...

did anyone catch the escalade on spinners at the 50 cent concert? its was kinda bronze in color.

sure did.. it was just parked outside riddin on like 24's atleast.... that lade' was sick i have a buddy who got a 2004 explorer limited with 20' spinners.... every time we stopped downtown we all got out and spun the shit out of them.. it was like a chinese firedrill but more gangsta' haha
