yeh thinking of the accord too.. not a big fan of the exterior of the 4drs.. :D

WRX maybeee.. my mom is looking a bit into the luxury side.. so the WRX might be too sporty outside and too blah inside for her..

Get a VW Passat 1.8t

My mom has one, and she loves it. Her's cost her $32k a few years ago, dunno what they charge now though.

i have seen a few new accords driving around, and personally i think that they are fugly! i would suggest the maxima as my first choice, and as a 2nd, i would go with the is 300 (i am not sure how much they are worth though)!

Infiniti G35 (http://www.infiniti.ca/eng/models/g35/price/index.html) $1,400 more than u want to pay, but it's a sweet car. power/luxury all in one nice package. just check out the spec's and see what u get.

The acura cl, woudl be a great choice, but Id go with the maxima...tons of hp and looks rad. The new accord looks terrible. The G35 is another great car with tons of amenities, the passat is too boring, and doesnt have much charism. The camry is a gorgeous car that will serve her well and give her a very very high resale value
Im not sure what type of drivings shes into but I dont think shed enjoy the IS300 or wrx, !S300 being rear wheel drive and the wrx being turbocharged, if your mom is like my mom then she';l hate the rwd lexus in the winter and wll destroy the turbo on the wrx before 30 000kms
oh ya and the new mazda 6 is wicked...took one for a test drive a few weeks ago..gorgeous car

The Acura CL start at $37K though (and is also a coupe, the TL is the sedan). I think the Maxima would be a good choice. The 2003 Accords are fugly. One of my neighbours just bought a 2003 Nissan Altima 3.5SE and they aren't really happy with it, they regret not going with the Maxima.

Infiniti G35 or Nissan Maxima

g35 is a great choice. the first car that ever beat the bimmer 3 series in c&d comparos. that about sums it up for that car.

however, new 7th gen accord is also a great choice. 240hp, 5 speed auto, and the styling will grow on u, just like every other honda design.

im recommending these 2 cars based on the fact that u will get them handed down to u later on. trust me, u wouldnt want to have a camry or maxima, or a mazda626 handed down to you. the camry and maxima both handle like shit compared to the accord and g35, and the mazda 6 is underpowered.

What-ever happens Stratus_Power
Don't let your sister drive it, that poor stratus of yours.
I'd say accord, you had fun driving mine when I lent it to you right? either that, or VW. You can use your Germany experience as an example. Get a 1.8T!
I guess it also depends on how much of a say you have into the car. I have a feeling though, it's gonna be accord or camry.
:D

haha good feeling buffy! but too late on the stratus.. she got into another accident yesterday.. now the car has offically been hit at all 4 sides... now all we need is someon to drop a rock on the roof! is that how much the G35 is?? that would be my dream ride if my mom gets the G35 haha.. but i think its definitly out of the budget.. ( that and CTS.. haha)...

Im planning on maybe getting a 03' tibby ( i know its weak and its hyundai.but i really like the style of it.) or a 00' Jetta.. in a year or 2.. so hopefully watever she's getting will be better than a Jetta or Tibby in 5 years :D

G35.....

If you go for the Maxima you might be able to get a good deal later in Feburary or around then when the 6th gen Maxima will arrive, plus if u get a 2003 those will be the last batch produced in the Japan plant. For the 6th Gen it is moving to the plant in Canton, where the Altima is being bulit and Xterra's i belive

I would go for an 03 Accord
you will get good sell back value as opposed to a Maxima

And i think u listed CL...shouldn't that be TL? (4 doors)

The TL will be coming out with a new design soon next year since the Accord was to get it first, it will be soon.

HRD2PLZ - Your neighbours aren't happy with the 3.5SE

Wow this year the interior has improved a lot
just the Maxima still has a few more things the Altima wouldn't such as Compass in mirror, HID's, Hydrolic hood, i think that about it

The altima is a better performance car since it has IRS

I got the Maxima because it was built in Japan not the states.
