Not for $4000. What are the kms on it? You can pick up an 1988 All-Trac Celica for that....in fact there is one in the trader for $3900.

I have a 1988 Celica GT, and it has been very reliable, never left me stranded in almost 8 years..? Never broken down...

IMO, no it is not worth it. I had two of them myself (one 86 GTS and one 87 GTS). Even in MINT condition still would not be worth it. One important thing is check if it burns oil, if it does then RUN. The 3S-GE engines are very sensitive to low oil, and will get the dreaded bottom end knock very easy! Also...listen to the bottom end if it knocks!;)

Good luck !

I sold my 87 GTS near 10 yrs ago .. for $6,000 .. so . go figure who much it worths now !

unless it is a super mint car, with silly low kms (under 150K) otherwise .. not a $4,000 car .. but it is your call ! it is hard to set a used car price ! demand and supply ! such as a corolla GTS is probaby worth more then double then a Celica GTS, however back to 1986 .. a Celica worth like 70% more then a Corolla !

:D

I'll sell you my 1988 Celica for way less than that....around $2000. With 170K kms. It does however need a new heater. If you're at all interested send me a PM. Mechanically in awesome shape, it has the dreaded wheel well rust like most of them have though.
