VW rabbit etc strut question

Anyone have any knowledge if the front strut is threaded to accept replacement cartridges..I want to adapt a set to anouther car,and want to put Tokico or some high end inserts in or Do I need to buy complete units??

Rabbits use insert shocks, but if you want to get a whole new strut, feel free.
I think thats what your asking. What do you mean for another car? or tokico high end?

Adapting them as the ones I have cannot be rebuilt and are hard to find..Tokico illuminas are adjustable

illumina's are pretty good. i hear you are better off to go with koni yellows as they are just a bit more (just what i hear).

I have a set of front strut housings from a 90 jetta that accept inserts, do you need something like this?

I think only early ones will work.there was an 89 jetta at bucks lately also
