2004 M3 engine into an s2000? Fast as hell or just a bad idea, and will it fit?

:drama: Twin Turbo M3 S2000 (my cream dream car) Is it possible?

i know this is like saying "i wanna veyron engine in a mini" but is it possible. ive always been in love with bimmers, i got one, but latley ive had a fetish for the very fine s2000. give me some criticisizm :thumbsdow :thumbsup: or some kind of advice please. i know the stock engine is a 2 liter and the m3 engine is 3.2, it might be too big for the hood space provided by the little honda.

I think this is a silly idea.. an S2k is a fantastic car, and an M3 is an even more fantastic car. Combining the two would make for a fantastic pile o' crap.

aha, but you cant say this idea is as bad as the s2000 engine in the 325 i think it was...
and of course they are two damn sweet cars, but the s2k needs a better engine and the inline 6 is the most capable engine to tune that anything i can get my hands on.

The S2000 doesn't need a better engine, it's an absolute blast to drive, super high revving like a motorcycle! I think the same driver in both cars would be very close in lap times around a roadcourse.

It makes no sense no matter how you look at it.. if you want 300hp in a Stook, get a supercharger!

yes sir you are damn right, but its all about speed. i believe an m3 engine could make 800hp with enough mods, put that bitch in a smaller lighter car that doesnt look as visciously fast (you could argue pinto over s2k but i prefer the s2k) as it really is, and damn it would be my dream car.

and in answer to your first REAL question in your thread, both the Inline and V-6 have their own pluses and minuses, but I would prefer the Inline as it is so silky smooth and balanced...I once with a few friends of mine had an older Bimmer inline six running off of 3 cylinders...and it idles so smoooooooth...

The idea, as stupid as it is, doesn't deserve that kind of personal punishment.


You have to be careful with engine swaps into cars like S2000's that are built for handling etc... The M3 engine and S2000 engine have a weight difference to keep in mind, you can't just throw in any other engine and keep the handling and balance the exact same. Besides the fact that it won't fit.

There's lots of mods out there for S2000's, look around when you can afford one. I don't mean any offence but swapping an M3 engine into an S2000 sounds like even more of a pipe dream when you're driving a 318ti.

thanks dude, yea the 318 isnt really fast, its just made basically for fuel economy and handling. i figured the 2 added cylinders would pack on a little more weight, but i dont know what the hell i'd do about it.

Though I would love to play the fun game of flame the newb, I'll actually help the kid out. First of all you could make any engine make 800hp. They had 1600hp 1.5L F-1 engines before they got banned, and there's a few 8 second neons. Enough work and $$ anything is possible, even your S2000 M3.

But one thing you have to realize that in the modified car world you have a few different groups. You have the imports, european, and the domestics. In the Import world there's the nissans, hondas, mitsu's, etc. Domestics are basically the general, the blue oval, and the mopars. The domestic family think of the Europeans as "imports", but the european car culture is seperate and a little bit more stuck-up. Especially the BMW's cause they think of themselves as the "ultimate driving machine".

If your serious about building your S2000 M3, which I doubt, you'll piss off a lot of ppl on both sides of the fence(honda and bmw) and you will waste a ton of money. But HEY, it's your money, I'm tired, and :whocares: build your stupid car

FWIW, no it wont. The C55 has a longer front end than any other c-class to accommodate for the engine, and that's WITHOUT the S/C. the 55K is too tall for the C-class bay. :)
