I need a company that makes the best engine/chassis for a nitro car. If you can, find one that has many available options and applicable bodies.

Looking for:
Under 300-350US (especially on eBay)
1/10th scale
Very fast
Can be upgraded (new suspension, more powerful engine, the lot)

I figure you guys know more about cars than the guys in the forum I just posted that in, so maybe I should be more specific.

I am looking for a 1/10 scale car. I want it to support a .21 engine, too. I am trying eBay as I surf the internet, checking parts. I see a lot of the CTS4 chassis, said to be 74mph RTR. What do you think of it?

That's with a body, I will probably order a GT3R body unpainted separately, and paint it flat black myself.

I just want to get some feedback on recommended brands/chassis and whatnot.

Thanks for any help in advance.

.21 in a 1/10th scale hahahah thats like putting a V 12 in a miata,

but well i would recommend a Schumacher fusion chasis + engine idont have a link but im shuire a quick google search should land you something,,

why do you want such a fast car anyway, the one that go up to 100km/h are hard enough to controll as is 120 is just over kill man

I looked at the .21 engines from an engine supplier, and they are for monster trucks and get up to almost 2HP. I picked out an HPI chassis, and I am getting a .12 1.2HP engine to go with it.

2HP in a 1/10 scale is insane.
I am not sure if mine is rated for 1HP or 1.5HP but she fuckin barrel-asses.

Keep in mind, at around 75 MPH hitting anything pretty much shatters your car... :)

You are obviously a beginner. Don't go that crazy yet. Get some experience with a nitro kit car with a .12 or weak .15, learn how to control the car. Trust me, it will be plenty fast for starting out. My stadium truck can barely hit 30 MPH and its hard to drive at those speeds. If you go too fast from the start you'll probably just end up crashing and spending a lot of money.

I think the traxxas nitro 4tec is an excallent starter for street. Very powerful engine, ready to run, AWD, the best customer support in the business, a great online forum. BEWARE though, even the new base model can hit speeds of over 60 MPH, so start slow with some short gearing.

I have a brand new in the box nitro Tc3 (best touring car out there for pro circuits) and I'd sell it for 325$ CAD (worth $450)

I got a beginner-intermediate car. It's fast, but not too fast and it's just right. HSI Nitro RS4 Evo. It's a Bimmer M3 GTR that is soon to be replaced by possible a Saleen S281 Mustang.

Anyone know of a tutorial to make metal flake paint? Can I buy it? I was just going to put some gold glitter in the paint to paint the Mustang body. Not a ghetto mod, a ghetto paintjob though. :D

haha... I had a nice Ofna 1/8 buggy with 2.2hp or so in a .21
was a crazy fast car... and then I hit a brick wall at about 60mph when my radio cut out on me... haha

it destroyed EVERYTHING. sheared bolts in half, bent the chassis, anything metal bent... anything plastic cracked. the motor even bent the mounts it was on. the car was a complete write off

Thanks for the comments on the Bimmer. I removed the stickers, looks much cleaner when you see it. You can't see the stickers too bad in that picture though.

i've got a bimmer im doing soon too.... <3 airbrushing :)

also, u dont need a .21 engine in a 1/10 scale onroad car, not even pros can handle that kinda power.

i have a team tc3 with a os cvr .12 and i can hit somthing like 41 MPH with a big GPS handheld thing strapped on the top w/o a body :P.

if u want to drift, go electric.
if u want to go fast, go electric.

if u wanna have fun, go nitro

and be prepared to spend a helova lot more on parts and accesorys than you do on the car. im in nearly 3k with my 2 cars.

forgot to mention, buy somthing that a local shop carys parts for... that being said your pretty much limited to traxxas or AE.

hobbyguys carys lots of traxxas stuff, pms carys lotsa AE.

things like a fusion suck, you WILL break parts, and you WILL wait WEEKS for them. sucks when its somthing stupid like a belt :)
