Lot 10 Price Increase

Well as if the UofC didn't steal enough of our money, good ol lot 10 is having a price increase as of May 1st I believe from $2.25 to $2.75.... On top of that my friend has informed me that the mandatory U-Pass charge will be going up this coming fall to an undisclosed amount. Argh... really sucks for someone who has to drive everyday... well just thought i'd give all you lot 10ers the bad news. Peace

I've always hated Lot 10, but whats more ridiculous is that Lot 11 is also increasing. I've been at the U for 4 years now, and it increases every year - deal with it guys. The art parkade was $3.50 when I started :(

Weapon_R is right - the prices have been going up every year. When I first started at U of C lot 10 was only $1.25 and it was those yellow tickets, not the green ones!

Lot 32 had better not increase! (but we all know it will!) I like the $3.00 each day or $3.75 for re-entry!! Way better than meter parking!

Because Spring is the beginning of a new term year for the University. Fall isn't the start of the year at the U. That's why any spring classes you take count towards your next year's GPA, not the Fall/Winter you just had.

Heres a tip. Buy lots of those packaged parking passes. They are purple for lot 32. Then when they increase the parking fees, you can still you them. I bought some when i used to park at 32 when it was $2.50, not $2.75. When it was raised to $2.75 i could still use the purple thingies. Now i dont park there, so i'll have left over purple things :D

And whats with the stupid UPass. I never got the sticker and ive never used it, it should be optional :whipped:

I actually drive a 97 Yukon to school, the z is only for weeknights and weekends when i'm privelaged enough to drive it.

It's also to do with the fact that not many students go in the spring/summer, so there are less complaints lodged. By September, no one really cares since its made clear that rate changes occur in May.
