View Full Version : Got Dish? Got Speed? Fluidics GTI Stage 3.

What do you get when you add 290whp and some mega wide wheels? One damn hot Volkswagen!

Out with the old, In with the new, this replacement for Fluidic Digitals former BMW shatters all conceptions of Volkswagens not being able to hold their own.

Enjoy.

Really has nothing to do with performance -- just shooting for more of a Euro VW look.

Very little rear wheel rub, the FK Highsport coilovers really try and do their best to minimize rubbing. T3/T4 assists in making the powa. :)

Just need you're help to tune it up. Bart's car is very quick, but it's a different kind of fast. The two rides do not compare.

The interior has a few aluminum trim add-ons here and there... chrome rings around the tach and speedometer. I love the stock interior, nothing really to improve.

It could be close depending on launch. His car is lighter but FWD, and mine is heavier and AWD. The engines are basically the same upgrades (Both 290hp, and assuming that he can change his gas programs)
Currently my car is only holding 15psi, and should hold 22....

Word.

An Audi A4 is a heavier car. The advantage of you has probably better handling because of the Quattro and even output on all 4 wheels.

Anyway your car is :bigpimp:

Fluidic
04-27-2004, 02:54 AM
The car was built off the ATP Stage-3 kit, however the previous owner changed a bunch of things -- mainly because he had the resources to do so, and because the ATP Stage-3 kit is garbage. One of the changes was going with a T3/T4 turbo.

I hold 20psi in every gear except for 1st (obviously) -- but I need a good tuning, because I drop 5 psi sometimes, and other times I don't. I'm putting my cat back in.

Mark I got you're PM. I'll let you know tomorrow. :)

Calgary car. Owner of Concept-1 was the previous owner. Never winter driven. It's a template -- I'm going to continue from here on, so much to change (performance wise).

What motor is in that, 1.8 T.... I will have to admit to being skeptical of the HP claim, after seeing a similar car but with a supercharged vr6 and a 100 shot of n2o only put down 260 whp....
Its a clean car, I love wide wheels , but they are a little to wide for the car really, I think 255 with a little more "tuck" under the rear arches would look cleaner, or add some flares or something so they look fit the lines a little better ... If it were my car, the wide wheels would have gone on the power axle though...Maxt

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA

AHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA

HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA

VR6 = 174flywheelhp stock (200 if 24 valve)

100 shot = 100whp

That would mean that the supercharger only added like 30 hp!?!?!?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Whoever has that car needs to get with the program.

Supercharged VR6 stage 1 puts down roughly 230-250whp, stage 3's put down close to 400 with proper tuning and built internals. Add 100WHP of nitrous...man, what you posted is pretty hard to believe.

Besides, 290whp isn't that unbelieveable when you consider the much bigger turbo, injectors, exhaust system, and the fact the motor was built for boost.

The car I mentioned is running a chipped ecu, and was an entire package built for the vr6 from some big name Volks tuner in the states, the vr6 is stock form might be 174 flywheel , in real life is like 110-125 at the wheels, add supercharger alone about 190 whp, and a 100 shot never really means a true 100 hp gain, in this case about 60 to the wheels, so the supercharger added aroun 65-80 whp.. Not bad, but not huge, and those numbers are from Concept-1's dyno, which is more generous than other dyno's around town...And beleive it or not, the owner was totally pumped about those numbers...400 with proper tuning..umm yeah ok.. not in this town....

Go pay Toma a visit and see what it does, it'd be interesting..Maxt

Ben
04-28-2004, 10:31 PM
I've only ever seen nitrous "shots" rated in whp.

20% driveline loss (generous) on a VR6 is 140whp.

My frends over at tunerworks are plenty familiar with supercharging VR6's and I would trust their info over that those numbers you saw say, 190whp is shameful.

400 not in this town? Ok, you're right, not in Calgary, Edmonton has a Supercharged VR6 that puts down 424hp at 9psi.

http://vr6rabbit.com/Supercharged1.jpg

Ran a 12.5@ 115mph at Bud Park.

As far as the dyno used, sure, you generally see a bit higher numbers on a dynojet than a mustang, however not 1/3 or 1/2 higher.

In the end, who gives a damn, whether it's 290whp on a dynojet or 260 on a mustang, it's still lots from stock and it's still nice. what are you out to prove?

I'm not sure about the numbers either. Hopefully the owner will bring it to the track to show the numbers fit those quoted.

424 at 9 psi.... Sorry but thats daydreaming... Even you should know better than that...Its pretty easy to post a dyno sheet , either a ringer, or one that belongs to something else... Do the math on the quarter time versus the claimed hp, something wrong there, like maybe a full second discrepency...

Nice clean pics.

Just something doesn't sit right with the staggered deep dish RWD look on a Golf.....just me I guess.

I could see the 1.8T making that kind of power with the right tuning and turbo, probably even more. Hell the Toyota 3SGTE 2.0L can make that much, just like a Nissan SR20DET 2.0L could (as proved by another post with Hollywood's dyno sheet).

The VR6 is another story. I am biased as I have never been a fan of them. People have different ways to get FI to work on a motor that comes stock as a NA.

Anyways it comes down to 1.8T != VR6
