Car drying

So what's everyone's weapon of choice when it comes to drying u're car?? Whether it be paper towels, newpapers, toilet paper, leather chamie ( sp? ), whatever. What works the best??

A lot of people have had success with that Mr. Clean car wash thing - but I'm just going on word of mouth - I've never used it myself. Apparently it removes all impurities from the water while you wash your car so you just let it air dry and that supposedly gives you a spot/streak free shine :dunno:

Its a latex blade that you use like a squeegee, just run it over your car after washing & touch it up with a chamie. Its really quick & works great.:)

Bought the Mr. Clean Car wash kit. It kicks so much ass and saves so much time drying. However - I still dry certain areas of my car with a chamois because even Mr. Clean isn't perfect (damn near close though). Mostly area's where water may drip off something, like the spoiler onto the trunk, or around the licence plate onto the rear bumper...

If you have a black or dark colored car the Water Blade tends to leave streaks, or even scratches if your car is still a bit dirty, so be careful:thumbsup:

I try not to run anything along the surface of my car....I just use deerfoot trail to dry off. I also have that califrnia blade and it works alright.

I go to a wand car wash that has spot free rinse. I think it uses the same principle as the Mr Clean and its a bit cheaper. Then air dry at speed. (under the speed limit of course)

Just my luck, i've got a black car. Does that squeege work over graphics?? Think i might invest in it if it does

I use a Simoniz Microfiber towel. Works very well for me.

TORO leaf blower. Air dry the car, that way there's no need to touch the paint surface and potentially scratch it.

If your rich get some meguires cleaning cloths, many times, most cant be found in calgary, but theres always the internet..

there microfiber cloth is the best for detailing.

I used to use the Cali blade, and a chamois, but I just picked up the MR. clean shit, and its awesome!! :thumbsup: :clap: .. Especially having a really dark coloured car, it makes my life so much easier, and makes the car look super clean.

drive around then dry again? that doesn't sound good...

Drive around - get dust/dirt/crap/fine particles on car
Dry again - Now you are scrubbing all those dirt/crap/particles back into your paint, pretty much like rubbing sandpaper on your car.....

yeah you dont wanna be driving around getting particles on your car then drying it...you will scratch the car.

thats why i dont like the idea of a leaf blower either...you are blowing all that stuff on your car :dunno:

I have the absorber too but it is a definite POS in comparison to a real deer hide chamois. All the synthetic ones are BS compared to a real one, trust me on this as I wash my car more than most people, have a black car and am quite particular to how I dry it. With a white car, it will be dry, but you won't see the slight watermarks it leaves behind like on a black car..
