This is the original 2 Fast 2 Furious Supercharged Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder, hand-picked by John Singleton for Tyrese to drive in the movie. I have all the documentation, photos, paychecks, movie call-sheets, and media articles. The car was chosen by John Singleton at the final car-casting call at Homestead Speedway in Homestead, Florida. John Singleton approached me at Homestead and asked if I would let Tyrese drive the car in the movie; I said of course I would.
About a week later I received a phone call from Fast & Furious Productions; they asked several questions about the car. Because they knew that some damage would more than likely be done to the car and the fact that the car is the Sportronic model, they asked if they could make four copies of the car, and use them in the film. At first I said no; I wanted my car to be the only one in the film. They told me that they would ship all four cars to my painter (ProComp Paint in Cape Coral, FL) to have them painted like mine, they would pay me for the graphic design, and my personal car (the original model) would still be used in the filming during the warehouse scene towards the end of the movie; I agreed.
This car has taken First Place at the NOPI Nationals car show in Atlanta, Best Mitsubishi at Hot Import Nights, and Best Asian Car Overall at NOPI Race Wars. It has been shipped to Panama (Central America) for the premere of 2 Fast 2 Furious, driven by Dalene Curtis (2002 Playboy Plamate of the year), filmed for several commercials and television shows including: NOPI Tuner vision, Hi-Rev Tuners, SpeedLogic, and a commercial for Redline which was on MTV. It has been featured in numerous newspaper and magazine articles including Newsweek and a four page feature story in Import Tuner Magazine.

I've read alot about this car in another forum. The one here was the original one that the movie cars were based on. The paint on the movie ones (there were I think 4 copies made) were more purple/grey, and the mural was a little differant... The one here.. the original.. was used in a few sceens late in the movie. If you look through his community.webshots link you can view pics from on set of 2Fast2...

It may have been in the movie, but only as an extra...

The car Tyrese drove had a square steering wheel

Do some research...This was the first...then we made copies to destroy

Lets see a few more pictures of the car then...

Why doesn't the DVD "making of the movie" not speak about it at all then?

I hate to be a pain in your side, but it's easy for someone to "claim" their car was in the movie... I just like proof...

Hey man... I give you props... Its a nice car, I called BS that it was the main car from the movie and I can tell from the pictures that it was in the movie (I never doubted that)... All I said is it was probably an extra (which is obvious in the pics)...

Not to mention the paint scheme is different, it's body color is purple, not silver. Also there are more of the squares, and the Z is more dyanmic on the F&F version. Even check out the side skirts, they're different too. The front & rear fascia look different too, but can't make them out that well from those 2 pics. Hell, even the rims are slightly different.

If you ask me, the only thing that closely relates your Eclipse to the F&F version is the paint design, and the fact that they're both Spyder versions of the Eclipse. Now I'm not saying that your car wasn't actually chosen for the movie or what not, but it just seems that your car was just a reference design.

Hey Kickazz. I've been following this car at neweclipse.org including all the discussion about your car being chosen for the film, and how they made copies for the movie based on your car. I don't think many people here understand that they make more than one copy of a car for movies... and that they would never use your own car for any stunt/action sequences!?! People here are too quick to BS everything. If they were to read any of the links you provided, they would be able to tell it was the original Spyder that inspired the movie version(s) any the history to go with it.

Again, beautiful car. Good luck with the sale!

Oh ok .. so this is just a car that somebody who was making 2f2f saw and said "Hey, lets use cars that LOOK like that one in our movie" .. so they built 4 cars based on the one being sold in e-bay .

I see ... So, somewhere in th HUGE ass non-spaced non-paragraph explanation on Ebay the one line I wrote above is drescribed ... I got all :nut: when I ws readin that ebay thread.

Good luck selling it! (and for anybody else posting read this:)
The car in 2F2F was BASED on the above one .. they thought it looked good, added more rice and made 3 more .. :drama:
