shit man, takes a bit of skill to get a car that heavy around like that me thinks. There is something about those cars, i dont know what but i really really dig them. WTF is happening when domestic companies are becoming the most innovative?

heh....it's built in Canada, but it's all german parts....it's basically an E55 with a hemi :)

A lot of Mercedes Benz parts in the 300C. Tranny, drivetrain, suspension, all from the last generation E class parts bin.

Pretty smart what chrysler is doing with the Crossfire, Pacifica, and now the 300. Low investment by re-engineering an old proven MB platform to differentiate it, and market it at an affordable price to kill competition. The 300C is wicked, nothing in it's price range/market comes close.

what's even more interesting, is that pontiac has pulled it's NASCAR funding, and is putting it all into competing in the D1 drifting grand prix circuit. their "car of choice" is the new GTO.

should be interesting!

Isn't there a Dodge wagon version of the 300C coming out?

I saw it on the speed channel last weekend. Apparently there are three completely different engines that are offered with the 300C. Two V6's and then the 5.7 V8 Hemi...

You're thinking the Dodge Magnum.

Almost everything is the same except that its a wagon. The SRT version will be the SRT-8 and it will have the a supercharged 5.7L Hemi engine capable of 430 HP and 480 lb.ft of torque.

Also they are in the process of making the entire platform AWD capable and those models should hit later this year.

On Speed TV like 2 weeks ago they had a whole 1 hour segment dedicated to promoting the 300c. They got 2 race car drivers to drive it, and race each around a track with it. They also did tons of drifting with the car, although it wasn't held out for that long like the driver in the posted link.

I really love it, and the fact that its backed up by some wicked performance makes it all the more appealing. the car looks like nothing else out there right now, and its always risky to bring a completely original design out (not counting the retro appeal)

For some reason it makes me think of a gangster car out of the 30s. I think it is the deep body and slammed roof. Anyone else feel the same way, or am I the only one?

5.4 0-60 mph and 14 second 1/4 mile. It'll give a 350Z a really good run for the money.

Great video. Great performance for, what appears to be, a huge full size sedan!

... and look great. Saw one the other day. Appeared to have a dealer plate on it -- silver. :bigpimp:

Is there a new market for cars now? The big beefy road-runners with high HP? 00/01 seemed the year where car manufactures started to develop cars with higher and higher HP and torque numbers. What is this model's main competition? Does Mercedes or Jaguar make something as powerful or as "German" inspired as the 300 -- for the relative same price? Around $35,500 nicely equipped.

These cars look so good... and with the Hemi... man!:bigpimp: car, for shure.

The 300C and Magnum are here, and they are cheap for the power, especially with the muscle car look. If the GTO can fix itself and actually look like a GTO, it can join the club. The new Mustang is great, too... t3h muscle car is back!

Yes, I also think it looks like a mobster car. When it drives it's as if you expect someone to do a drive-by shooting or for 4 big guys to get out the car and throw someone in the trunk. The car has a nice chop top look to it. The front looks like a Bentley.

Yes, I have to agree. The 300C has so much bang for the buck that I'd take it over any sedan in its price range. I'd even take it over the $50,000 400HP Caddilac CTS-V. I remember when the Infiniti G35 sedan came out it was (and still is) very nice but the 300C seems like a much better bargain. More room, more engine, & "classier" design for the same price.

My only gripes with the 300C are that it needs a sportier suspension and tires, and that a manual transmission isn't available. Otherwise, the engine, styling, interior, price, etc. is all there.

have you ever driven it? (the C).....the suspension and tires are perfect imho, it handles beutifully...high speed cornering is a breeze.....and as far as the manual is concerned I also am a bit surprised that it's not even an option, but the SpeedShift/Manumatic/Autostick/whateveryouwanttocallit kicks ass anyway....
