freakin
05-07-2004, 11:16 AM
I think I'll bring my car down to get some numbers before my new motor goes in. This will be my first time taking it down the track, so it should be interesting.

Does anyone have any idea how crowded it usually gets this time of year? I want to make sure I get a few runs if I'm going to get spending the money to race.

Dayuummm I had fun !! I ran a bunch on the Solo 2 course and started with a 65.xx and ran a best of 55.13 .
Then I just had time to sneak in 3 runs on the 1/4 . I still had the shocks set up at full firm and tires at 40 psi. and over 1/2 tank of gas .Not ideal .
1st run the printer jammed - no time .

2nd run .Let off the clutch, rolled through the lights ,red lighted:
60' 5.1 ! and and killer 19.8 /81 mph

3rd run a bit better : a okay launch,a mind-bending 60' 2.8 ,
and a 17.44 / 82 mph

I think with the car set up better (tires, shocks, less gas, lose the spare ) and a better launch , there's a 16.9 there somewhere.

Next week I'll "Focus" on the 1/4 ....

Well... interesting night.

Thanks to all who helped me try and get more power to the ground.

My best time was something like 14.7 at 98.6mph. I just sit there spinning through 1st. Oh well, at least I ran a better time then Al did driving my car! ;) :bigpimp:

Time for one of these bad boys. :)

Obviously, look at your trap speed. You're car blows off the line, but once you're moving it hauls! Cant wait for LSD and a nice launch.

What was your entire slip with 60' and 1/8th mile? Will give a better indication.

Wow so tonite was the first time Ive ever been to secret street, it was wicked!! I never thought it would have been as big as it was, and I did not show up until 10:30 or so. I saw Fludic run a couple times, thats the only car I know by pictures, so now I can at least match one car with a name. I am excited for July to come, I wont be racing the Golf there, but once I get the Bimmer, man thats gonna be fun!! Ill see everyone out there next week too!!

Was a disappointing day for me, even for a first time. :( I discovered that my boost isn't what it normally is - It was basically like driving a stock prelude tonight...

Special thanks to the guys for giving me pointers. It was cool meeting a lot of guys and getting pointers from Buh buh, Rage2, Cocoabroba, Illeagle, Finboy... the list goes on... You guys rule.

Did you try a softer launch ?? I didn't see any of your runs. Were you bringing up the revs high on the launch ?? Perhaps try lower revs and giving the tires a chance to hook. :dunno:

My turbo starts to spool around 4500rpm. I need to launch around that RPM to get a "good" launch. Al tried a few different methods -- including removing my shifter and boot for weight reduction... :dunno:

One race I even put my funky neons on (well i flicked the switch, don't know if they worked),... my ex brought my daughter to see me race so I turned them on for her,... but wouldn't you know,... they had left after 3 races I did, and I think I switched them on the 4th,...lol.
And the time slip lady kept jokin with me all night about my small helmet and small head, lol.

YEAH,... that red truck HAULS ASS!!!! glad I wasn't put up with him,... I'd look ridiculous,...LOL, even tho that black sleeper civic got me good,... must've run some juice on 3rd,... he just broke loose then. I did expect the white talon to kick my ass,... and he did,...lol.

Hey Richard
Was that you in the white prelude?..that's not just an NA car is it!?!
The MSP ran against me last of night, running 14.64 @ 95.39 to my 14.4 at 100.01...quick little car...I ran 5 PSI over stock boost, but kept blowing away tires through to third, even with soft throttle?!!!?!?!!??!!...:banghead: ...of course not being able to run my slicks as expected was disappointing, and still have winter Yokos on stock rims...Oh well!! :dunno:
No...i haven't slept since last spoke to you...will be about house tomorrow for rims...call.

I am very disappointed I didn't get to go tonight! Dammit!

Went to the ROUGHNECKS game, which they won 13 - 11. So I guess that's OK, but DAMN, I wanted to go to Secret Street.

Fluidic: I've run times 0.2 - 0.3 quicker with a slower trap speed. So I think you need to relax that gas pedal off the line, and just get some grip...cuz obviously your car is quick after it gets moving. Wish I could have been there to see you running...

I'll be there next week...

That was the best time I ran pretty much.

The first time I broke 16. I took a quick glance when I got the slip and saw 15.9. But I was still driving back to the lanes. So I didn't get a good look. Driving back I was like 'That looked like a 15.9. . . . Or a 16.9. . . . 15.9!?!?!'

When I finally stopped, I was like WOOHOO!

I also think the problem is the trim size of my turbo.

It's an awfully large turbo for my motor. 1.8L 20V. Ken (from concept-1) and I are going to experiment with a gt28rs.

I agree however that I do need to work on my traction issue. LSD and slicks perhaps?? Two much grip for my transmisson?

See you next Friday.

well lets see, i agreed to pull the drivetrain and even came and helped you clean out YOUR garage MULTIPLE times, then i get a call without any notice that the drivetrain is getting pulled out and i offer to come over ASAP to get it. chris was helping you and said don't bother its almost out.

then you ignore all messages, pm's, and requests from mutal friends to give back my personal property.

you tell me to come grab my drivetrain and STILL won't return calls or messages.

really, who is being immature here?

its been over a year and i still don't have my drivetrain, i've tried being polite, i've tried being helpful, neither of those worked so now its time to bring it to public attention how you deal with your business

Absolutely...delete the stupidity posts...including this one!

I am not your dad...therefore I should NOT have to explain the point to you.

There have been & are TONS of evenings & weekends, when i am not away working, where the garage could & can be opened to you...
..."YOU" remove with your tools, your hoist, your work, your time!!...NOT mine!

Get it?!

The drive train (Chris and I did ALL the real work already for you..."YOUR WELCOME"...was (and is) already completely un-done & ready to hoist out ("YOUR WELCOME AGAIN  )...not my hoist...not my elbow grease, not my time!

Get it?!

We stopped after doing that work & asked "why are we doing this for him, and he's not even here helping?"..and said "screw this".

Get it?!

If you changed your tune...i.e. realizing your work is the requirement...than you'd have finished the job a LONG time ago...it's still waiting...still in my way...BUT...I won't be the one doing the work for you!
...meaning...you NOT expecting that I (we) should do it for you!!

That's why I've gotten to the point of ignoring your repeated "expecting" messages...because they all say the same thing..."where's my drivetrain"...its right there!...still waiting ...and still in my road.

It's the expectation & approach you have consistantly been using...expecting I (we) should be doing your work for you!

DO YOU GET IT?!

Adam...public forums are especially not the place for this non-sense.

END

whos 240 ran at the autocross? mad drift!!! and some are nice! also got a video that i need to unload.

also along with a few pics here and there, thought i saw moonracer there running too, not sure tho...

anyway, thats about all the people i saw from beyond. where are u guys usually?

hehe yeah I was there, I ran autocross at the start of the night and finished up on the 1/4 in the last half of the night. Did well at the auto X with a mid 55 sec run and sucked at the quarter with various problems :( Managed a 17.05 by the last run but my best from last year was a 16.8 so maybe next time I'll beat that crap time...lol But the night was pretty fun overall.

Get it?!

had i been given a chance to come and get it with my own tools and hoist i would have, bet still no chance because you don't return messages.

i'd take this to pm's but i think we both know how that would turn out, they'd all be deleted and i'd still be stuck without my drivetrain.

Not a great pic, but this S14 put on a great show with its drifting technique. Spun out a few times, but oh well.

that s14 was crazy!! (im thinkin it was a 240 w/ sr20det ??)

he came through on teh first round and spun out hard a couple times but he had a wicked run the 2nd time .. crazy drifting turns ... loved it!!

It was my first time out to secret street... we should setupa beyond meet down there and everybody meetup in the same area so some "strangers" can come down without fear of being a loner ...

i was watching him in the auto X track to, he was putting it right sideways around those corners, but it didn't sound like it was turbo, who knows :dunno:

That was alot of fun again, even with my bruised butt,..lol.

Can't wait till next week,... gonna try out a theoretical Cold Air Intake System (as long as I can fabricate it and get it installed tomorrow - it'll be an all dayer).

Yeah, next week both my daughters (3 and 6) will be there to watch, so don't laugh when I throw on my underbody neons, for my little ones to watch, helps them to recognize the car, by the lights.

What size turbo is in you're Mazda? Have you maximized every performance potential (max efficiency range) from that stock turbo?

It's just a T25......There's a few more things I can try before I upgrade turbo, but it's pretty close to being maxxed out right now:nut:
