it's as tall as you are, it will run you around the hill if you haven't snowboarded (is that a word) before. you probably wanna look for something around 155. for a all purpose board you generally want it to come up to about the middle of your nose. the shorter the board the better for doing tricks, the longer the board the better for doing downhill

If your 5'5". you would probably want to look into a 150-155 at most, obviously you are a beginner, so I would definatly start of on the storter side...you jeopardise speed, but gain in control.
