I've noticed a couple people trying to log onto my computer. What gives?

ICQ/IRC does that a lot to your wall. That could be the reason but keep in mind it could also really be people trying to log on to your computer.

What type of server, or host or ISP are you using Jeff?
And is it on a wide area network, or local area network, or is it a direct connection?

Looks like an open network or broadband connection.
Nothing big.
Get cheap Linksys Firewall/router.

i am on telus dsl. and i dont use irc! i do have file and print sharing enabled cuz i use xp, but i have almost nothing shared.

Get a 1 port router it will cost ya like $100 or less and it will stop whatever intrusions you are getting....

not that hard to do jeff, all you have to do is set your computer as a DMZ and that'll open up your ports nicely

actually i do have a router, a nice one at that, but its a bitch to use
