i know both will be very expencive to maintain, but worth it IMO. but what kinds of costs are we looking at? can anyone with a 300zx TT enlighten me on some of the "extra" costs of owning this vehicle? i hear the engine is a real horror story :/

ahh! both stylin' cars.... skyline is more practical in a sence, but they Z is a faster car (plus there are parts around)

Both cars are going to eventually have some form of problems, it's inevitable as it comes with age. The problem with having a skyline is that finding replacement parts is going to be very difficult and expensive.

They're dirt cheap down there, 8K to your door is easily attainable

in good condition too! the only thing that bugs me about the Z car is that the 2+2's are fugly, and 2 seaters kinda suck if you drive friends around...

bah! i must test drive a 300zx this week!, not sure if any places will let me though :/ maybe if my dad comes! :P

on a 300zxtt at this age turbos are most likely going if u want them done right cost about 3K or more to overhaul them... other than that the rest of the car is really reliable.. maybe stuff like t belt and other minor things with age like a rattle here and there as things get older... oh and also the gas hoses go depending on the climate but cheap and easy to replace.. either car looking at prooly 750-1500 in repairs per year..

Most R32 skylines are legal now (the 89 ones anyways), but the GT-R is legal in August I believe.
