Some Info on our dj's for friday.

Once the underground's best kept secret, drum 'n' bass has crept into mainstream consciousness. A sub-genre that traditionally held second-class status in the rave music scene, the style also known as jungle now seems ubiquitous--in TV and radio ads, background music, even in the works of some prominent artists. As Roni Size, from the drum 'n' bass hotbed of Bristol, England, recently told Rolling Stone: "Drum 'n' bass is on fire right now."

In the Canada, the foundation for this surge in popularity was painstakingly laid with the dedication and sweat of the music's earliest Stateside proponents.

B~Johnson BIO::

B~Johnson AKA Freddy Fingaz , has earned respect for fighting on the front lines of this Canadian subcultural revolution since the Late '90s, for his surgically precise and devastatingly dramatic mixing skills.
Brad threw and DJed about 20 house parties where he met two local DJs. Dj Fever and Dj Big Worm Playing at the Shadow Lounge. Brad has also played at the lucky lounge every Sunday as well as Bamboo TiKi Lounge, Tequila and some Drum & Bass Parties.

Since the birth of jungle, the canadian pioneers have spread the gospel of drum 'n' bass across the nation, winning converts to the wicked sounds of the U.K. masters.
Canadian drum 'n' bass boldly and confidently asserts itself on the global stage. B~Johnson and all of the Sinister d 'n' b posse stand ready to show the world that the Canadians can kick ass, too

Big Worm Bio:

DJ \ Producer Curtis AKA Big Worm was born, brought up and still lives in Calgary. From a young age, Big Worm had a keen interest in Mixing.
Big Worm has been blowing people away with his Scratching and live sets for nearly five years now. He embraces diverse musical styles, having been a resident for Fahrenheit with DJ Fever for over 2 years, playing at far too many nights to mention here. Also Played Along side such talent as Dj Rectangle and Freaky Flow. His experimental & often psychedelic style like nothing you’ve heard at jungle nights before.

Andy Mavin aka DJ Lil’ Andy

Born in Toronto, in 1977. Shortly after he moved to Calgary, and has lived here ever since. He got the name lil Andy from high school. He was always the smallest kid in class so that’s what everyone called him. After that the name just stuck. He first started spinning house. At the time he started going to numerous parties in Vancouver first, and then Calgary, when the underground scene was just starting to become popular. That’s when he started to get into d 'n' b music. He started spinning mostly house and then started mixing in d 'n' b. During that time he looked up to a lot of different DJ’s so it’s hard to say which ones influenced him the most. He didn’t want anyone to have too much influence because He wanted his own style unlike anyone else. He bases most of my music now days on funk and disco.
lil Andy Drops some of the sickest beats you have ever heard, and brings with him and energy that’s has to be experienced in person to describe.
