First time out with the Stang on street tires. The gearing was way to steep, so I was on the rev limiter for the last little bit....

If I get a channce, I have some strange vibrtaions to sort out, and I need to step down in gear....

I really want my 11 second real street tire run ;)

Here are a few shots of the motor... they are a bit dark, so turn up the brightness ;)

Those were some nice runs last night Toma, looked like you had traction problems on the launch?? Probably some more room for improvement on those times??

I'm pretty sure traction problems are to be expected when running low 12's on street tires. :burnout:

What'd your motor dyno at Toma?

There's a fine line between being afraid and being stupid ;) I am quite aware of what that car can potentially run in full race trim

On the topic of pump gas streetable monsters. What is the highest rwhp that you know of on pump gas?

Toma
05-17-2004, 11:03 AM
well, I know of a really high one, but it blew up fairly quickly ;)

Other then that, 580 on my dyno is the highest I saw...

Now I know what is being said with the inuendos....,

Personally I think head gaskets count.:dunno:

My brother had a turbo Z 87, I think he blew his head gasket 2 or 3 times, it was the main downfall with that engine, but that was all OE.

The one that Toma and I are referring to is higher than that...........

In this application OE head gaskets are junk.

P.S. Were not done yet.:D ;)

Hollywood,
When I said head gaskets don't count, I meant as far as engine failure.;)

Nope, not talking headgasket.... the whole motor, heads, shortblokc etc were TOAST. And I agree, head gaskets are no big deal.

Ummm .... You aren't talking about the biodegrageable ones Chrysler put on their old 2.2L turbos are you? Besides myself, I know lots of people that had to replace theirs multiple times. Those cars are plain junk.:thumbsdow

My Daytona Turbo Z = Junk
Friends Lazer Xe Turbo = Junk
Friends Lebaron GTS = Junk
Friends Shadow Turbo = Junk
Friends Dayton Shelby = Junk
Friends Lebaron Convertible = Junk

There are more as in the town I grew up in only had a Dodge and Chevy dealership so the town mechanics were very busy.

I realize that some people have built them up because you can get them used for free and put a turbo on that is worth five times as much as the car but to me it's a real fast piece of JUNK!!!!

i have had 4 turbo dodges, 1 headgasket problem. it was a felpro. stock Mopar ones held up 25+ psi. :dunno:

no point on argueing which headgaskets are better. its different on every car.
