Closeup of the cylinders. Excellent condition. Very clean thanks to the oil coming from the turbo!

Pink turbo. Color's from the red hose that was used to strap on the air filter, or the oil from the K&N.

Good look at the entire turbo. Rarely see it with the Intake Manifold in the way.

Stock headgasket. Temporary for the Saturday track day, engine's opening up again after that to grout the block and widefire/o-ring again.

Huntley's widefire headgasket. Notice the pitting at the inner edge due to detonation during tuning and overboosting :D. Everything after the O-Ring was in perfect shape.

One of the burnt valves. Very minor damage, probably due to wear and tear, and not the big overboost that was experienced Monday.

Looks great there rage, I'm surprised that head isn't more abused than it is. I have to do the same pretty quick here sans turbo.

No doubt. I beat the shit out of the car this year. Track days, hard street drivin', and quite a few 25+psi runs both on street and drags. The motor held up nicely.

cant believe you're putting the head back on then reomving it again...pretty hardcore dude....always wondered what your turbo looked like in that car..:thumbsup:

Sounds like a "Custom Hand Job"

I'm not looking forward to rebuilding the head on mine, scared as to what I'll find.

Yea, that's the winter project :D. This is just to get the car going again for track day on Saturday hehe.

Don't they make full metal head gaskets for your car? I have a GREX (JDM Greddy) metal head gasket for my car, it's good for 30PSI.

Very cool that the 944 lives for another track day :clap:

I took the head off mine last year and I was pretty surprised as well... considering the amount of abuse I gave it on the track... funny how other things non related failed this year....

(Yeah, still up and setting up the car for tmr and planning.... Looks like I may not get much sleep)

As you can see, made it to the track! Died on Monday, opened up on Wednesday, fixed by Friday, Tracked by Saturday. Busy week for Marc! Thanks a bunch Marc. You da man!!! :thumbsup:
