hi everybody.

i just bought a 1992 sunbird gt..
a few days after i bought the car i noticed the battery meter reading zero.. drove around for a bit and then went to the store. then when i turned car back on started reading again. then half hour later or so it read zero again. i drove around for a few days fine but one day car wouldn't start and then i had to get a boost..when i got a boost battery meter was reading again but then stopped after a while.. i dont' notice it graduallly dieing so i think my alternator is fine.. i know that my oil gauge doesnt' work and wondering if the battery is just garbage and a problem with the gauges too or some sort of electrical failure somewhere. there's supposed to be a green meter on the battery to say that it's charged but it's never green.

any ideas?

yea, get a new battery

if the car drives fine then it isn't the alternator

you can never be 100% sure but it is most likely the battery.

Go to a shop and have a AVR test done. Then you know for sure.
