I am going to Lebanon this summer and was thinking of getting a moped down there (they're pretty cheap). I was thinking maybe I could bring it back with me and ride it here. Is it legal? Would I be able to put it on the airplane as luggage?

Thanks

nope. not unless it's a model that's allowed in canada. that would be pretty cool though, I'm sure there's tons of cool peds over there for cheap. I mean, if you can get it THAT cheap, you could always try... sometimes they'll let stuff like mopeds slide, but customs usually doesnt like allowing vehicles in that are 15 years or newer.

if it's older than 15 years, you're golden.

I belive you need all paperwork and import papers for anything with an engine. (even a lawn moar) But check with customs, if you call them I am sure they can clarify that for you. Also, check with the plane company you will be flying with.

You could take the engine off and bring it in as a regular bicycle. Then ship the engine separately.:dunno:
