V600 Help!!!

K, aparantly I can d/l mp3s onto my phone and use it as ringtones. I have read all over the net and people don't specify what programs I need to transfer onto my phone. And if they do specify which program, they don't tell me where to get it! Help a newb out. Anyone also know how to modify mp3s? example: making a 192kb bitrate song that's 3 minutes long into 96kb bitrate that's cut down to 25 seconds long?

Didn't your phone come with any software? I get my V600 tonight so I can let you know then but I'm pretty sure it comes with MPT software to transfer from you comp to phone.

theres not to many restrictions on the Vxxx's, get a data cable and a program called MobilePhoneTools, I can sell you my exra cable for $25

although i haven't specifically used mp3s, my phone came with MPT and hooking up new rnig tones is as easy as drag and drop

I have yet to try mp3 ringtones as I haven't had time to find a program to crop it but I would imagine that putting on a 3 minute ring tone would result in loss of memory but other than that, the ring tone should play as normal

any of you guys flash it to the new firmware yet?

I haven't bought the data transfer wire yet and aparantly I get some sort of software when I do buy it. But all the Rogers sales associates i've spoken to have not specified if this so called "software" can turn oridinary mp3 songs into usuable ringtones for my v600.

download cool edit pro 2.0 trail version and use it to crop the song and such. thats what i do.

Im using the bluetooth key for my V600 w/ Mobile phone tools and MP3's work fine, it's drag and drop like others have said. I use a program called MP3 cutter-joiner to edit my MP3's for ring tones, works great!
