Just wondering if shims need to be installed when installing a "hot" set of cams. Their essentially reground cams: (webcam grind# 577) 252 duration, 8.3mm lift. Also if I do need to installed shims how do I know what size? thanks

Most likely unless the base didnt change...
What size would depend on what you have in there now ;)
Install the cam, measure, pull cams measure shims(unless you can remove without removing camshafts), add/subtract difference less clearence spec. Follow manual on hot or cold engine for measurement. Biggest problem is having the correct shim kit, you should be able to write them all down and figure it out then take them to the dealer and trade for what you need. Measure good so you dont have to make a bunch of trips. Don't mix them up either.
