tires question

how to define the size of teh truck tires. as a passenger car e.g. 205-45/16 which is 205mm wide and 45 high and 16 inch rims. but for the truck spec, i don't know how to choose the size. anyone can gimme some idea thank you

get the same thing but in truck size. It will say L/T on the side of the tire and look. all tires have the same readings just in differnet sizes like u said. but make sure when u go to a shop get tires with l/t on them l/t standing for light truck:thumbsup:

Truck usually are measured by the diameter, width and rim size. For example, you might get the following

31x10.50-15LT

That's a 31" diameter tire which is 10.5" wide and it fits a 15" rim. The LT stands for light truck.

Just convert imperial to metric, YO.

31" tire - 15" rim =16" total sidewall.

16" total sidewall = 406mm

406mm/2 = 203mm sidewall

10.5" width = 267mm ~ 265mm

Take 267/203 = 76% ~ 75%

approximately you got a 265/75 R15 tire (it's not exact due to rounding)
