Well, I remember reading a bunch of posts/threads where many expressed frustration over the cops not doing anything except write "dumb" tickets. Well... by the sounds of this, it looks like they have been busting their asses. Check the link for the full release.

Heres a snippet...

CALGARY POLICE SERVICE NEWS RELEASE

Following a series of auto thefts involving Honda vehicles
being stripped and burned, in early September 2002 the
Calgary Police Service began a seven-week investigation which
brought together detectives and investigators from the Auto
Theft Unit, the Joint Forces Arson Unit and the Insurance
Bureau of Canada's Investigative Services Division.

Police have to date recovered eight of the stolen cars from
locations in and around the city. Yesterday, Thursday,
October 17, 2002, police arrested and charged three Calgary
men in connection with these crimes.

Just read that in the Herald.

The stolen cars that were mentioned on this board, none of them were torched though. I wonder if any of them were related.

I heard that on the radio friday too. I can't believe that 250 Honda's to date have been stolen here :dunno: I guess they target the mid 1990's with no anti-theft systems.

I wonder if those guys owned a shop, or if the police found out who they sold all the parts to.
