Dodge Viper SRT-10 vs Mercedes Benz SL500

I was driving around town today and i saw a silver srt-10 viper and a silver sl500 benz, they both looked great , i was just wondering which one do you guys like better?

Come on ... they r totally diff cars !

One is a Luxury Roadster ( fast too ) with class, Sky-high Status ... and the Chicken feet logo .....

One is a tipical super fast american muscle car ...

For people like Viper ( rich... not that old) they won't buy a more expensive, but way slower SL500 ...

For people like SL500, they are older, business men, doctor, lawyer ... etc .. they won't buy a domestic car, with "not as good" style, bad fit and finish Viper.


They both expensive, ( $130K for Viper and $140K for SL500 )

I will take the SL500 for daily driving ..and Viper for track ! :bigpimp:

The Viper is a brawny muscle car. The Mercedes is a sophistacated multi purpose sporting roadster.
The Viper beats the MB in a contest of speed.
The Mercedes does everything else that matters in the real world.
I, unfortunately, will never own either, most likely.

If $$ was no option I'd much rather have the SL600 than the Viper, but it's way more $$.

For those questioning the new Viper's quality and refinement, have you seen or experienced one. Just a question.

Yeah the first Vipers(GTS) were all muscle - not terrific sports cars.

The RT/10 was a big improvement and the SRT-10 even more so - it can compete squarely with the much more expensive Ford GT-40 in almost every area of performance.

Nothing wrong with the fit and finish on either the SL or the Viper, but they are definitely targeted for different audiences.

Yes, the SL500 will be around $10K to $15K more with options, however, $130K , $140K ... who cares ? right ?

Again, for me, I think the SL500 is the way to go, and I like it way more ! fast, nice, sexy looking, draw attention ( for all age)

However, if I have $140K to spend, I will buy the Viper in Black. :D

You must be in the US because the base price in Canadian dollars for a Viper SRT-10 is $127,000. Thats MSRP but I doubt the dealers are selling such a tremendous volume of them that they can afford to mark them down to $81,000. :dunno:

When is the SL65 coming out here, 2005? It's not listed on the Benzo.ca website. With the SL600 North of $180K that SL65 should easily touch $200K. I read while ago they were going to have to detune that motor a bit for North America because of octane requirements.
