Yesterday at about 2 P.M. I saw an Aprilia Mille with BC plates going south on Granville in the Marpole area of Vancouver.
So, where did a BC guy buy an Aprilia? Are they being sold here?
I dont really like Ducatis because of the fiddly maintenance and expense intensive desmodromic valves, and Moto Guzzi's are just too ugly, but the Aprilia appeals to me, as a better exoti-bike.
I want one.

for approx. 25 g's, you could be the proud new owner of an Aprilia rsv Mille. or throw in another 5g's for the Factory R.

Nice bikes, but for the $$$$, I will stick with what's around everywhere. They are no better than Suzikis or Hondas. For that price might as well get the Ducati.

No better than a honda?
I beg to differ.
It's the same thing as an imported exotic.

I am talking quality wise. Go to Europe and Aprilias are everywhere. At 26g I find them way way overpriced. Nice bikes, but for that price you could get a faster Gixxer and 2 track bikes!

True, its not for most people.
If I had the cash, I'd get one for sure though.
Well...eventually.

To tell you the truth the Mille isn't worth the money, I have ridden plenty and a good friend has one. He likes it but now that he looks back he wishes he would have invested $14K US in a different bike.

I as well would rather just pay the 14 k for a new 1k and then use some for mods and a track bike then save the rest in a bike fund for later :)

I never said anything about preformance.
Something appeals to me about the Ducati 900S4, the Monster with the four valve engine. It is a "standard" so you don't have to crouch in such a way that your chiriopractor becomes your closest buddy. It has a Dirt Tracker stance, and handles like a sneak thief on the run. It can do double duty as both a sportbike and you can tour on it.
Maybe I can learn to accept the expensive valve maintenance.
