While searching for information about the TriHawk that AMF sold back in the eighties, I came across an incredible site on three wheeled cars.

Three wheeled cars make sense. They have less rolling resistance and depending upon the design, offer superior handling without upsetting stability. Here is perhaps the best example, the T-Rex.
I would buy a three wheeled sports car if it offered the performance potential that I wanted, with economical operating costs.

Any thoughts?

If it could be proven that three wheeled cars could handle just as well as four wheeled cars then I would totally go for it.

But if Mr. Bean has taught me anything, it's that three wheels cars aren't very stable. :) I imagine safety would be quite an issue too - especially traction in the wintertime and crash testing...

Wonder why the "Urkel" 3 wheeled BMW Isetta was never that popular....lol. Saw one driving on Macleod Tr. a while ago. Urkel's was a 3 wheeled version wasn't it?

yeah, like ludacris or some other black rapper had one I think. Apparently ther are pretty quick, but yeah, safety would be a bit of a problem

Yep, they do at least 140 mph, too. They are for sale in the DuPont Registry.

This trike, the Scorpion, was one fast little machine 20 years ago. It is supposed to have been able to out-accelerate, out-handle, and outbrake a 911S of the era.

I don't see any reason why a three wheeled car is any less stable than a 4 wheeled car.
I know my three legged table is more stable than my four legged ones.

There is history to three wheeled cars. Here is the first, and perhaps the most successful trike-car, the 1928 Morgan, powered by a one litre Matchless V-Twin motorcycle engine.

Notice the rootes type blower towards the bottom right of the picture.

Well, so long as I can fit my flux capacitor, Mr. Fusion, and get up to 88. Count me in!
