Fire damages home of Lightning defenceman Dan Boyle during Game 1 of final

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - It was a terrible Tuesday night for Tampa Bay Lightning defenceman Dan Boyle.
After losing Game 1 of the Stanley Cup final to the Calgary Flames, Boyle learned his house had suffered $300,000 US damage in an electrical fire. No one was home at Boyle's two-story south Tampa home when the fire started Tuesday night in the wall of the game room, Tampa Fire Rescue said. It quickly spread up and outside wall and into the attic.
Firefighters were watching the final minutes of the Lightning's 4-1 loss to the Flames at the station when the fire was reported. They arrived at 10:39 p.m. EDT and had the blaze under control in about 20 minutes.
Boyle's game room had many valuable keepsakes such as jerseys, trophies, game pucks and photos. Firefighters said they were able to minimize damage by moving them to other parts of the house.
Team officials were at the scene and will assist Boyle in finding temporary housing, Tampa Fire Rescue said. Lightning officials didn't immediately return a call seeking comment Wednesday morning.
