I suppose, but a big-block SS is nothing to sneeze at either!

the GSX had 2 engine choices; both 455's, The Stage 1 and the Stage 3 455. One, I think it was the Stage 1, was a monster on par with any big block, including the 454 Chev. As they were so very very rare, I would take the Buick.

If I wanted a car for a summer and a quick flip, I would go for the Chevy.
The Buick would be a long-term keeper, but popular rules, and the Buick just was not that popular in the Seventies.

GSX doesn't have too much of a following so don't think it would get too much at auction. Chevelle would be a sweet car to have. I would go with the chevelle.

I've heard people call chevelles pieces of shit and I've heard people say great things about them.

What are the pros and cons of them, just curious.

American Muscle is American Muscle. Theres nothing like a V8 in a solid steel car.

The Chevelle SS 396 (if its a real numbers matching car) will have a much higher collectors value compared to the Buick.

First of all, is this hypothetical or are there actual cars? What are the prices?

I LOVE the 70 Chevelles, actually had a 70 Malibu that I often regret selling. That car was 30 years old and still ran like a top with the original 350 4 barrel and points ignition. IMO one of the top 3 best looking muscle cars.

That being said, if that GSX is a stage 1 car you would be a fool not to buy it. They are very rare and fast. Very few colors made for the stage 1 cars, off the top of my head yellow is one and white is the other (might be another for 1971). There has been lots of feuding with the Stage 1 Buicks and Hemi's back in the day, some funny stories there.

Again, the Chevelle is awesome and I love them, but the SS396 car (which hp rating motor are we talking here?) will always play second fiddle to the big dog SS 454.

I'm WIth GayCX..

If it's a Stage I car, Saturn Yellow or (ALPINE I think) White, Rock that bitch, otherwise get the Chevelle.
