Driving around North Van killing time before my flight back to Calgary.

Went to the Acura Dealership in the automall and spotted this in the back parking lot:

It has a rear wiper... I don't know much about GTRs, but I heard that was a criteria for it being legit.

There were around 5000 GT-Rs made in 1989, all were made after August 21st, 1989. So 15 years old that car isn't.

trispokes dont look good on many vehicles, and a decent trispoke design is very uncommon, point in case the above skyline.

I dont think it was for sale. It was plates on it, and I cant really see a dealership touching an illegal car with a 10 foot pole.

:werd: There is no way that the dealership is selling that car.

No, that car was not for sale. It was in the back parking lot and had plates on it. I suspect that it belongs to an employee.

wouldnt it be legal if it passed emissions? isnt that the whole reason for the 15 years because then its considered antique and emissions doesnt matter.

:dunno: I heard its cause of saftey reasons for this particular car.

The 15 year rule has NOTHING to do with emissions or safety. It's put in place to protect the new car manufacturers from competition from their own vehicles, as they often price cars cheaper in different markets.

Why isn't it like 10 years then? I don't think a 15 year old car that only enthusiasts obviously are interested in will put a dent in the new car market
