I just bought a Alpine SEC 150R alarm and had it installed. the problem is that the idiot who put it in, installed the Proximity sensor in my cup holder. just plain not a clean install. the fellow at the shop told me that the sensor could not be under anything and had to be in plain sight for the the sensor to work. does anyone know if the is the case? ( sound like BS to me but i'd thought if anyone else knew)

u can put it under plastic, it'll work through it. Just not under metal.
Who did the install for u?

I used to have mine in a overhead light in one of my older installs, it worked fine...

its range was down from the roof, so if I left the windows and sunroof open if someone reached in it set it off...

Car Toys, after i told the installer that in the cup holder won't work he told me that he could under stand " if this was like a 100,000 dollar car or somthing but it's not" they are going to get the biggest ear full when i go back on monday.
