Just seen these on another forum and I thought I'd share. Didn't really like it but it is starting to grow on me. I'm sure all the V70 fans will love this.

Wow, first the V70, then Sony makes the S700 and now the V80.. they look awfully similar (the S700 and the V80). I think I'm going to see if i can get my hands on the Z500a.. what's the specs on it roopi?

Mostly everything I've read is saying that it is basically a V500/600. Just a different look to it.

Actually the V80 is out right now. Current prices are around $600-$700 USD but those are high right now. I'm sure they will be down within a month to something a little more realistic.

Too bad I hear the software is pretty much the same as the V600....of course with slight changes like the "Rythm Lights" feature. Never noticed that the ring around the exterior lights up.

The one thing that really really really bugs me is that you can't search beyond the first letter of the phonebook. The V690/V878 can do this....why not the V600? *sigh* .

The V80 looks great though, too bad no 850Mhz support.

Nice writeup on the phone here, http://www.mobile-review.com/review/motorola-v80-en.shtml

I could never see paying that much for a phone.

Early reviews do say that the quality isn't as good as the V600.

It's available in North America as well. Post some pictures if you end up getting the V80.

the V80 looks pretty cool with the rotating design.. only reason I didn't get it is because the phone doesn't really look that great (cept for the rotating deal).. I should be getting the Nokia 7610 here by mid September.. should do the trick until the MPX220 or the MPX releases.

Screw the V80, I'm waiting for Razr V3 baby!!! Makes every phone on the market look like a bloated pig.

its a great fun, had it for a while, only complains are that the design of the stylus is extremely stupid and it takes too long to open programs ( or im just used to PDA speed )
but great phone none the less

but on the topic of V80, i asked quite a few stores in Hong Kong when i was shopping for a phone and NONE of them recommanded the V80 with comments like, over priced, nothing special, too easy to break, etc etc

It's all about the BLING with that phone. Just like the V70. The V70 had the features of the V60 for like 3 times the cost. The V80 has the features of the V600+haptic lights for twice the price. Overpriced for what it does, but it has been Motorolas legacy for "fashion" phones.

It's actually available for $655 now. Nice try spamming with your overpriced products.
