i like to take the car to a large empty lot and do multiple stops, progressing in pedal pressure and speed. i start at like 30km/h with moderate pedal pressure 2 or 3 times, then to heavy pedal pressure, then up to 50 and so on

from what i hear there is a heat cycling process that you need to perform on rotors. so what part of the brake system are you actually talking about?

I usually just take the car out on 22x then get on the brakes until I'm doing about 30-40, take it back up to 100-110 for a minute or two, then do it 5-6 more times. That gives everything a chance to heat up and seat properly, but shouldn't warp anything. Make sure you take that time between cycles to let everything cool down again.

I don't think I really need to say this, but I will. Make sure there's no traffic around when you're doing this.

the old school methods can BBQ your new pads & rotors.

as you suggested use the brakes lightly for 2-300 km. after that they will be ready for anything.

Some F1 teams bed in their brakes on public roads with a street car fitted with modified brakes to hold the F1 parts.
