What car would you like to see be used for drifting?
Everybody knows the most common drift cars are: AE86's, Silvia's, RX-7's, Supra's, some Skyline's and some Altezza's.
After seeing Rhys Millen's Pontiac GTO, it got me thinking of what other cars would be good for drifting?

I think a E46 M3 would be great.
It has great power going to the rear, 50/50 wieght distribution and is a beautiful car.

What do you think? what car would you like to see become a drift car?

Porsche GT3, I've seen a few attepts its hard to control but it would be easy to get into a drift since its engine is hanging right off its ass. An amazing design :bigpimp: :bigpimp: :bigpimp:

That 300C video is pretty cool.

I would love to see an older camero/firebird ripping up the track. They may not be the nicest in execution but it would sure sound cool!

You wanna see BMW drifting, just watch Tunerworks Rob... he drifts his E36 euro M3 at race city .

Mazdaspeed MX-5, and Elise would be nice, but im not sure its a great drifting car, kinda like MR2's, too much mass in the rear making it easy to over-rotate.

What do you think? what car would you like to see become a drift car? stock bmws are mainly setup to go where theyre pointed rather than drift everywhere.

The miatas are a whore to get and keep sideways, from what i've seen of the Elise it also likes to stick rather than slide.

the thing about miata's is the lack of power. I think the mazdaspeed with some suspension tuning would rip it up pretty good, but i agree with the elise comment totally. They just handle too damn well.

A SuperCoupe. If we ever have a proper drift meet at Race City I would be happy to try it out.

how about a front wheel drive? convert it over to RWD and that would be badass. In that case, a Civic coupe or Talon would be preetty sweet

Sorry GTS Jeff, you sort of missed the point. the question was:
What car would you like to see become a drift car?

haha odd, I had the same thought about a month ago... RWD Civic HB conversion, that'd be pretty cool.

I'd like to see someone drift an F1 car. Of course, the wings would have to be completely dismantled because they're not suitable for drifting.

Rage: Would it be possible to talk to Fiji and see if you two can put your brains together and get a drift meet at Race City? What I am thinking is close a section of the track, hose it down and drift away. One at a time, taking turns or course..

Just dont know if we can get the amount of people to make this worth while.

Hose it down? Who drifts in the rain? ;)

Anyways, you can practice at the solo2 events on friday nights. The course layout is fairly decent for drifting.

240s are one of the easiest cars out there to drift turn and mash the throttle.
Toms-Celica, when I get back im going to try and start a driftsession chapter out west. Sessions will probably in Red Deer due to all the room and cheap lot rental. Should be fun..just need to start buying pylons

There is a video of a RWD Integra kinda-sorta drifting. It's pretty lame since the guy won't actually get his foot into it, but if you can find the video of the guy drifting in the SR20DET Miata the Integra is on that vid.

I'd like to see a drift session set up though, just as long as it's not in July (vacation) would solo2 or sumthin be required? I still have to get that.
