Did anyone see the article on Calgary 7 news at 6? The police are going to start using a system called Auto Find to help find stolen car. Basically it's cameras mounted on a minivan that records license plates of parked cars and runs them through a database to see if the license plate belongs to a stolen car.
A pretty good idea in theory, but it's only really good for people who are stupid enough to steal a car and drive around in it, parking at busy malls or parking lots without changing the license plate.
Oh well... hopefully this helps with the theft problem
