I may have the chance to get a CP Railroad Train horn for free.

I'd have it wired up as a secondary horn just for fun.
Has anyone delt with loud horns on their cars, and any legal issue, or fun results?

:)

Isn't it heavy as sin?

Although with your kind of power, it doesn't really matter if you have an extra 10lbs...

10lbs wouldn't be that bad if it is that heavy.

I've also wanted to do this! My dad hooked up a Porsche horn on his BMW bike, sounds awesome. Bike horns are so wimpy.

I dont think you would have any legal issues so long as you have the factory one.

I did however get a Stunting ticket a few years ago for honking my horn too much (got thrown out but still) Apparantly drawing too much attention to yourself/distracting drivers is a stunting ticket.

Cripes!! I'd hate to be on the recieving end of that!

What ever happened to custom horns? I heard a few in a couple of movies(but those might have been added sounds), never acually seen or heard any in person.

Good lord man, I wouldn't do that. I'd feel bad about it if I was honking it at the moron infront of me, and it turns out to be this 89 year old and give him/her a heart attack.

I just think its a useless thing to do personally, but if your just going to have it for fun, and not use it like you would a normal horn, then hey, go for it man!

hahah, I wouldn't use it like a normal horn. I might honk it making a pass down the 1/4 mile at race city to scare the crowd.

A guy at my work who used to work for CP Rail. I hope I won't need a capacitor to stand up to it's current draw.

It'd probably knock people over, or at least hurt their hearing (serious).
