I think those are Maya rims, Busta Rhymes has the same ones on both his lambo's, one is lime green, I think the other might be orange like this...

i think it may be a replica. There was one being built in calgary within the last year..hard to say.

Not to make you guys look bad Cyclone or AMG but Joe Malms knows quite a bit about his Lamborghinis and is failry involved in the Calgary exotic car scene. If that is a replica its a damn good one

It's NOT a replica, unless a replica builder would spend 15 grand for seats and who knows how much for the dash, gear shift gate, shift lever, a V12 (the exhaust note of the V12 is NEVER going to be duplicated by some domestic crate V8 in a replica.) etc.....

That is NOT a replica...

:werd: It isn't a replica. Sure it could have been since it was in ZR Auto aswell, because they do sell replicas, but this one isn't, IMO.

I read this post and figured hey .... lets see who can spot the real Vs. The fake..... I will post 3 pics... hopefully similar in angle and color.

Tell me which ones are real and which ones are fake... & what brings you to this conclusion?

Actually there is a fake on in there but I want to see who can actually tell.. paint has nothing to do with it.

I say number 2 looks fake to me because it's sitting too high. But they all look pretty authentic

I agree...but other than that, to the naked eye there is nothing else that indicates replica/real.....i hate these games:D

I say #2 is fake... it seems to be missing its windshield wiper.

#2 fo sho
EDIT mabye #3 ,....it has diff rims??

heres my take on kit cars...kit kars are all good IMO if and ONLY if:
1 it isn't badged at all
2 its got some sick shit under the hood

gorillam

I say the fake is #3 because of the wheels, the holes extend all the way to the rim, unlike the other two.
Am I correct??

Deetz
10-07-2004, 05:55 PM
so....what the answer? which ones are?

powerhouse

#1 Replica Made in Canada
#2 Replica Made in Canada

#3............ Real Made in Italy

My point in this was that determining a replica from a real car is not so simple. Many of these replicas are now built at par or in some cases far better than the real deal.

Most people that buy these high end replicas do so so they can actually drive and ejoy them. Cheaper to maintain, cheaper servicing, cheaper replacement parts, cheaper oild changes, tune up etc...

The reasons for determining replicas and real cars are not always what they appear. just because the rims are different doesn't mean it is a fake. Otherwise the yelow roadster at ZR Auto would have you believe its a fake. Good call on #2 and noticing the wiper blade

However, when you see them in person, it is more easy to tell if it is REAL or FAKE ...

Yes, it is hard to tell when it is moving on the street, there are lots of fake Ferrari/Lambo in Edmonton, I can hardly tell which is real which is fake, when they are moving .. however, when they parked, then can spend some time to find out which is what ! :)

Just like why 90% asian girls have few LV bags ? because most of them are fake, and people can hardly tell the different ! or most the Asian guys wear ROLEX .. again . most of them are fake .. fake watch, fake bags, fake CD, Fake cars ..

The nicest Fake car I ever seen .. is a Black 959 .. I was crazy about it .. and thought that I saw a REAL 959 .. but then I saw that "959" in a Car magazine next month .. it was FAKE !

I completely agree with you. But there is one major difference. For the most part, someone who actually put in the time, labour and money will be happy to brag it is a replica that they built from the ground up. Much like the same pride that goes into building hotrods and custom cars... now on to that rolex....... LOL

I know a group of guys that are building a diablo.

It has a BMW v12 with lambo badging on it. The claim "exact dimensions"
When completed, they're going to ask $135000..and supposedly, they have three people interested.

Given a diablo goes for about 160000 now ( no vt ) i told him they'll be lucky to get 35000.

As an exotic owner, I hate guys like this. Not because I am Jealous, but these guys are trying to rip people off using the mark of the manufacturer. The cost of the old fiero plus fibreglassis about 10k. The engine, maybe 5K. What account for the balance?

I ve seen a guys with a 246 dino kit ( posted on this forum before ) in edmonton. I pulled up with the TR and said nice kit. I couldn't believe it when he flat out said, " it ain't a kit"

Yes I do respect the labour that goes into them, but the guys that are very sincere about building kits always qualify their demos with "this is a kit I built...."

Kit cars are not cool. Kit cars are not neat.
Anyone who has a kit also favours blow up dolls over the real thing.
