Wow everybody is going for the Flames!

It's weird to think that the Stanley Cup is in Calgary this very second.

I'm going to be the first spoiler. I'm going to say 2-0 Tampa Bay.

Richards will score late in the first, and Lecavelier late in the second.

Bottom line is that I lose $83.00 if the Flames win.

Time for some overtime action. I say St. Louis scores late but I don't know what's gonna happen. Although I hate to say it, Simon looks pretty dangerous now.

What's wrong with Lecavelier anyways? He's sure struggling out there.

overhead replay on ABC HDTV shows no part of the puck made it past the line. The angled replay shows it because of the angle of the camera with the puck a few inches off the ground. Unfortunately, no goal.

WOO HOO Tampa pulled if off, even without their best player playing well.

Calgary definetely deserved to win, they just couldn't finish it all, they definetely should have played Simon more in the first overtime, I had a feeling about him.

Now back to Tampa so the Lightning can win it at home.

Sorry guys.

Aren't the so-called bandwagoners (i.e. junior high girls) the ones who just use the games as an excuse to go crazy on 17th? I, on the other hand, use wins as the excuse...

Even though you all know that I hate the Flames:

I wouldn't worry about the 'niceness' of the celebration. If the Flames pull it off on Monday the whole city will go nuts, and don't forget about the parade they'll have where the players carry the cup down 17th Ave or whatever street they'll go on. They expected 100,000 fans down there tonight. Well instead on Monday I guess the Saddledome will empty and there will be 119,500 fans.

Still holding onto my hopes in T-Bay. It's the only way I wont have to bury myself in my basement for this next sunny week in June.

I know exactly what you mean, coming back from 17th after the game, there were a few idiots in cars waving their flags and beeping their horns. I just felt like shouting "what the hell are you cheering for!?!?!?", celebrations on 17th started from Calgary winning games in their playoff series', not so that junior high girls who crave attention can bear all, and not so that junior high guys can use it as an excuse to beep and shout at everyone. It's almost like they didn't even realize that the Flames were playing in the playoffs and just saw people with Flames flags honking at each other on the road in the past month, and decided they wanted be in the "in" crowd.

Alright here's my thoughts from laying in bed not being able to sleep all of last night :banghead: yes im that dissapointed/mad/sad whatever :(

We were at a little house party or a big house party with 50 or 60 people just off of 17th ave. Its was awesome. Then we lost. I felt so dam sick when st.louis scored that goal. Someone said i had tears in my eyes. And its seemed like everyone else or atleast most couldnt give two shits..... wooohooo we get to drink for another night. Jesus.

And then we go down to 17th to hit up the whiskey :thumbsdow and everyone is laying on their horns and high fiving every body and celebrating the Flames loosing the most important game in 15 years.

Plus on top of that i think i broke a finger hitting the table :banghead:

Oh well..... its not over.... we blew a great oppertunity but its not over.

WE WILL WIN GAME 7

Not like that at my place, it was my bro's b-day yesterday so all his friends came over and I had some of my friends over and it was pretty crazy, but when that goal went in, it was seriously silent for about a minute after the game. I still went out, sort of, but I was crappy and we ended up going to denny's and eating, but man, that was a rough loss last night. Really dissapointed because I think our guys played better than Tampa and deserved it more.

Hakkola
06-06-2004, 12:56 PM
Hahaha, so funny, everyone was expecting they would just hand over the cup before the game was even over, that's why I said we were going to lose.

Nothing is ever a sure thing, that's why they play the games.

So Kobe, did you end up going to 17th ave after we lost?

Hopefully we can take game 7, should be a hell of a game. I hope it goes into OT.

im pretty sure he means the people high fiving each other and poundin on their horns so dont worry ryan :D

see the thing that disappoints me is at the start of this season if you EVER talked about hockey, people would be like "who do you cheer for?" and i found being a flames fame if i said i cheered for the flames people would laugh and ridicule me. its been this way for YEARS. now that the flames are in the finals everybody is "OH YEA FLAMES RULE!" *shakes head* i know people who are avid detriot fans and yet they cheered for the flames. funny, they never did that all year, when it was calgary vs detriot they kept mockin me goin "haha redwings are going to stamp out your flames" and shit like that yet in the play offs, not a single comment like that.

it was a disappointing end. the flames did deserve it cause they played harder, but oh well. game 7 they will win cause i turn 21 that day ;)
